 VAAC Format

The pupose of VAAC is to gather information from volcano observatories, satellite images, pilot reports about atmospheric volcanic ash clouds that may endanger aviation. These reports are then disseminated to other adjacent VAAC centers located worlwide. There are currently 9 centers worlwide namely Anchorage, Buenos Aires, Darwin, London, Montreal, Tokyo, Toulouse, Washington, and Wellington.
